About
“We find our path by walking it.”
- Maya Angelou
Let me start by saying, “Welcome, I am so glad you are here.” Truly. If you choose to embark on a healing journey with me, it will be such an honor to walk beside you. Before you get started in therapy, it might help to know a few things about the person who will be holding space for your own story…
My name is Emma Shoaf, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in the State of Tennessee. I received my Bachelor of Science from The University of Alabama and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University.
I utilize a trauma-informed approach to therapy and am trained in several modalities which have influenced this. My trainings include: Natural Lifemanship, EMDR, Ecotherapy and Child-Centered Play Therapy. I use the insight and tools gained from these trainings, as well as a person-centered and holistic approach, to inform the care that I provide to clients.
As a fellow traveler, I recognize the strength, courage and bravery it takes to embark on a healing journey. My hope is that you will leave each session feeling seen, heard and known in some way, and that you will find a genuine sense of connection.
If you are ready to take the next step, please reach out so that we can connect and begin your journey towards healing and hope.
The development of Healing and Hope Reins is a journey all its own, and I must give credit to my Maker, who has breathed every ounce of it into existence. As I mentioned before, I am a traveler just like you, and sometimes the path before us is rocky and so uncertain, but it is on the path that we eventually find our way home. It will be a grace to walk beside you as you find your way.
